This year has been tough on our community. That’s why Burton is honoring Hunger Action Month by partnering with Food Bank for the Heartland. This is the second year Burton has partnered with Food Bank for the Heartland to feed those in need. Last year over 2,138 lbs. of food were collected.
Food Bank for the Heartland is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Omaha. It serves vulnerable communities in Nebraska and western Iowa by distributing food to 610 food pantries, schools, emergency shelters and other nonprofit partners. Over the years, Food Bank for the Heartland has helped thousands of communities in need through generous food donations.
Brian Barks, President & CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland, thanks Burton for its continued support.
“More people than ever are seeking emergency food assistance. The pandemic has exacerbated food insecurity and created a lot of anxiety among families. Companies like Burton getting involved in Hunger Action Month really demonstrates their commitment to the Omaha community.”
President and Owner of Burton A/C Heating Plumbing & More, Mark Evans, is thrilled to be working together with Food Bank for the Heartland to take action against hunger.
“I am always blown away by the community’s drive to take action to help their neighbors. It really makes our work here at Burton more meaningful when we can serve our community in more ways than one. However you choose to help, we are grateful for your support.”
The best way to help during this challenging time is to join Burton in collecting cans of food. For the month of September, if you donate five cans of food, you can get a furnace safety inspection and cleaning for only $55. With your help, Burton can provide meals to people in need by transferring donations directly to the Food Bank. Join us to make this year our biggest donation haul yet!
